Be a Better Rider With Our New Advice Series

Honda Motorcycles UK and Bennetts BikeSocial have joined forces to create a series of self-help video and written content packed full of top tips, advice, hints and secrets designed to help motorcycle riders of all experiences or ability get more from their riding. It’s called Better Riding and it provides expert information to make post-test rider training aspirational by supporting and supplementing existing training.
We see golfers, horse riders, skiers all practicing and practicing their hobbies trying to improve all the time. Yet when it comes to riding a motorcycle, how many of us actively seek out tips or advice to help become better, and therefore more confident? If we all practice the correct methods then we’ll reap the benefits of being safer and smoother too.
There’s always something new to learn about riding and if we put the hours in to actively learn and practice the correct techniques (which in itself is a great excuse to get out and put the miles in) then we can all become better and more confident riders too. Riding a motorcycle is complex and riders are vulnerable but if becoming an expert at any activity takes 10,000 hours yet getting a new rider through Mod 2 takes just 20 hours, there’s a disconnect when it comes to developing road craft, mindset and machine control.
Creating the plethora of advice is Bennetts BikeSocial’s professional Motorbike Coach, Mark McVeigh, an experienced rider coach, an ex-MotoGP engineer, a riding academy owner for over 20 years, and the inventor of motoDNA rider training tech.
Whether you're new to riding, have been doing it daily for fifty years, or fall somewhere in between - be it as a returnee, weekend rider, commuter, track enthusiast, daily rider, or fair-weather rider - there are still countless opportunities to boost our confidence and control. Our content is extensive and aims to cover most aspects, though it's not exhaustive.
If you have a niggling issue with right-handers or aren’t so keen to filter. If you’re thinking about downsizing or need help with understanding grip. If wet weather riding worries you, or learning how to react to hazards, understanding just how powerful your brakes are, familiarising yourself with counter steering, or bossing roundabouts, then let our Better Riding series be your go-to-guide.
Surely we all want to better at everything at everything we spend our time and money on, so how about becoming a Better Rider?
