Bikesure Insurance Competition Winner Collects Honda Transalp Dream Bike

Winters can be cold, wet and dreary. For 90,000 bike fans, though the Motorcycle Live event in November 2024 at Birmingham’s NEC offered a much-needed ray of sunshine.

For one bike fan in particular, the show was the highlight of the year. “I was heading for the exit,” says John Parry, “when I passed through the Bikesure Insurance stand. A young lady approached me and asked if I’d like to enter a free competition to win a motorcycle. The prize was a dream bike of mine, so I filled in the form on her iPad and headed home.”

A Dream Come True

Lucky for John, his dream bike, the award-winning Honda Transalp XL750 was the star attraction of the Bikesure Insurance stand. “After the show, I never thought any more about it,” recalls John. “When Gavin Hawes from Bikesure called me and told me the news though, I had to pinch myself.“

According to John, the news of his dream win was still sinking as he made his way to Honda main dealer, Blade Motorcycles of Stratford upon Avon. Gavin was ready and waiting in the showroom to officially hand John the keys to the Honda Transalp XL750.

If winning a brand-new Honda Transalp wasn’t exciting enough, Bikesure also gifted a year’s free insurance. What’s more, the barnstorming adventure bike came equipped with colour coordinated Honda Genuine Accessory panniers with inner bags and a matching 50L top box.

Blade Motorcycles sales executive Ed Cheshire gave John a comprehensive walk-through of the feature-packed adventure bike. After trying the Transalp for size, John declared the bike to be “absolutely stunning. It’s exactly what I’m looking for in a bike and as soon as the weather breaks, I’ll be heading for the hills,” he beamed.

Award-Winning Transalp

Over the years the Transalp has won an army of fans throughout Europe. Launched in 2023, it was a success straight out of the crate. The Honda Transalp XL750 added the MCN Middleweight Adventure Bike category to its list of awards. Its stomping 750cc twin-cylinder engine make it a blast on the road while a tough lightweight chassis provides genuine off-road ability.

Plans are well underway for the 2025 Motorcycle Live event. The show gets bigger and better each year. You might not be as lucky as John Parry but with the Honda stand featuring everything from fantastic new models and audacious upgrades to your favourite rides, everyone’s a winner.
