making city life easy
The Honda e is a car packed with the technology of today. Connectivity is core. Smartphone mirroring is standard, for both Android and Apple devices. Built-in Wi-Fi creates hotspots for passengers. It is ready for modern living.
The MyHonda+ smartphone app allows you to monitor charging remotely (and many other functions make living with an electric car more seamless). You can even speak to your Honda e, via the built-in AI Honda Personal Assistant. Simply say ‘OK Honda’, and your car is at your command.
Old-fashioned door mirrors are out. Instead, cameras come as standard, beaming high-resolution video feeds into 6.0-inch screens either side of the dashboard. They help aerodynamics, lower wind noise, are safer – and will amaze your friends.
Three more screens sit between them, including twin 12.3-inch LCD touchscreens. This is a dual interface, so passengers can set the sat nav, then ‘swipe’ it over to the driver, and carry on compiling playlists.
The full-width digital display takes touch screen control to an entirely new level. Another example of Honda technology that’s human-centric and fully functional, but stylish and standout at the same time.
Function above all else
The Honda e is a minimalist masterpiece. It is richly retro but forward-looking and futuristic. The exterior design is progressive and exclusive. There is nothing on the road quite like it.
Simple is not easy to do. Peer closely and you’ll see the attention to detail. Our designers have obsessed on the minutiae. Look at the symmetrical 'eye-like' LED headlights, the matching rear lights. We have even fitted deployable front door handles, which electrically retract when not needed, sitting flush with the body sides
“It’s a clean car,” says the leader of the Honda e project, Kohei Hitomi. “It should have a clean design to match.”
Inside, the functional cabin is modern and lounge-like, with an open plan feel. The textures of the beautifully crafted seat upholstery remind you of sofas. LED downlighters are built into the roof. The ambience is warm, rich and welcoming.
The Honda e makes living with an electric car easy. The gloss black charging port is centrally positioned at the front of the car. When connected, LED indicators glow with the car’s charge status. You can see at a glance if it’s charged up and ready to charge away.

The Honda e’s performance is electrifying, because nothing is more responsive than an instant-react electric motor. As soon as you press the accelerator of the Honda e, it responds – fast.
Cleverly, there are two levels of energy recuperation when you lift the accelerator, so you can both recharge the batteries and slow the car without pressing the brakes. What’s more satisfying than creating your own electricity as you drive?
The Honda e is a car designed for the city. Its low centre of gravity aids flat cornering. Fully independent suspension soaks up bumps without crashes or bangs. Honda’s engineers designed special steering with a turning circle of just 4.3 metres. This means the Honda e can U-turn virtually within its own length.
But, with a range of over 135 miles, the Honda e is not just an urbanite. It’s electrifying, everywhere. When you need to recharge, boosting the batteries is as easy as plugging in a kettle – and quick, too, thanks to standard compatibility with public fast chargers.
Saying that, most Honda e owners will home-charge, so they always start the day with full batteries. And need never visit a filling station ever again. It all underlines how easy it is to live with an electric car.
leading the way for a greener future
What’s the best way a car can help tackle city centre emissions? By not emitting any emissions whatsoever. The Honda e doesn’t take a step-by-step approach to air quality. It goes all in to do its bit. Call it the urban vehicle with zero impact on urban air.
What’s good for the environment is also good for your wallet. Electric cars could cost a third less per mile to own than a regular petrol or diesel. Recharging the battery from empty to full costs less than £4 – compare that to your last tankful of fuel.
Electric car technology is simple, so the Honda e will need less servicing. More convenient for you – better for the planet. The Honda e will even generate less harmful brake dust, because the brakes are used less often.
Positioned low beneath the Honda e’s floor is a 35.5 kWh lithium ion battery similar to those used in smartphones. It is fully recyclable and is expected to have a long life. It is ready to be plugged into public fastchargers, which will charge it to 80% capacity in up to 30 minutes.
