Safety First with the
2020 Honda Jazz

Find out how advanced driver assistance technologies make the all-new Honda Jazz one of the safest cars of its kind.

It is why Honda continually strives to improve the safety of its cars, model after model, year after year.

First and foremost, cars must protect those inside them and others around them.

New developments around manufacturing materials, construction techniques, and active and passive safety features mean that every generation of Honda takes a big step forward when it comes to being as safe as possible and sets class-leading standards of passenger protection.

Now that the all-new Honda Jazz is here it moves the game on yet again and introduces further innovations designed to keep people – and the eggs and plant pots – safe and secure in all conditions.

Here, we look at just some of the key features which illustrate how the Jazz continues to put safety first.

An extra pair of eyes
for every Jazz driver

Our roads are becoming increasingly crowded, so it’s no wonder drivers often find themselves wishing they had a pair of eyes in the back of their head. With the new Honda Jazz, technology takes on the role of co-driver and scans the car’s surrounding environment to help keep you and your passengers as safe as possible. Known as Honda SENSING, it comprises of a range of systems that acts as that extra pair of eyes.

Forward Collision Warning

In traffic, a moment of inattention could result in a bump with the car ahead. But the latest Honda Jazz features Forward Collision Warning, which uses radar and camera technology to continually read the road ahead. If you fail to respond to a potential hazard ahead, such as a slowing car, it will provide a warning. Should further action be required, the Jazz’s Collision Mitigation Braking System can automatically bring the car to a stop if it senses the need to avoid an impact.

Lane Keep Assist System

It’s equally reassuring to know that the Jazz can steer you out of trouble. The Lane Keep Assist System reads the road ahead and helps prevent the Jazz from straying out of its lane. An audible warning is provided in the first instance, but should you fail to keep the Jazz in the middle of its lane, gentle adjustments are automatically made to the car’s steering to ensure it remains in a safe position.

Adaptive Cruise Control System

On longer journeys, the new Honda Jazz lends the driver a hand with its Adaptive Cruise Control System. This will not only maintain a selected speed but also adjust that speed should the traffic ahead slow. When things get moving smoothly again, the system automatically returns the car to the selected speed.

Cross Traffic Monitor

Anyone that’s ever had to reverse out of a parking space onto a busy road will also appreciate Cross Traffic Monitor. It can sense approaching traffic, warn the driver and even apply the brakes to help avoid a collision.

Help at the touch of a button

The innovative new My Honda+ app, launching in July 2020, brings a wealth of features to drivers that make living with your Honda Jazz more convenient than ever.

One such item is the Safety and Journey subscription, which allows you to summon roadside assistance at the touch of a button, should you run in to any mechanical issues, using the smartphone app and Honda Digital Roadside support.

Your location and details are shared with Honda, meaning even if you don’t know precisely where you are, such as after striking a pothole and suffering a severely damaged tyre that leaves you stranded at the roadside, Honda does.

This clever innovation also provides a Geo Fence feature, so if your car is moved from a designated area without your say so, you’ll be notified and can track its whereabouts.
