RHS Hampton Court and Tatton Park shows 2019

Honda is proud to be exhibiting at this years' RHS Hampton Court Palace and Tatton Park shows. The event promises to bring to the forefront Honda's Lawn and Garden range and vision for the future of our environment.

Learn how to make a Bee Hotel with Honda

Honda is passionate about protecting the environment for future generations and has recruited the help of wildlife author and presenter, Kate Bradbury, to be on the Honda Lawn & Garden stand at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival and Tatton Park Flower Show to educate visitors on looking after bees and how to make bee hotels.

Kate Bradbury is an award-winning author and journalist, specialising in wildlife gardening. She edits the wildlife pages of BBC Gardeners World Magazine and regularly writes articles for the Daily and Sunday Telegraph, The Guardian, RHS magazine The Garden and BBC Wildlife and BBC Countryfile magazines. In 2015 she became the first Butterfly Ambassador for conservation charity Butterfly Conservation, and she writes a quarterly column for its magazine, Butterfly. Kate regularly talks at events and festivals and appears on radio including BBC Gardeners Question Time and the popular RHS gardening podcast. She also makes wildlife gardening videos for gardenersworld.com.

She lives and breathes wildlife gardening and is currently transforming a tired north-facing patio garden into a wildlife oasis, where she hopes to attract a wealth of creatures including frogs, toads, newts, birds, beetles, hedgehogs, butterflies, not to mention her very favourite, and first love: bees.

The UK’s native wild bees including bumblebees and solitary bees are struggling. We have lost 97 percent of our wildflower meadows which are vital food sources for these precious creatures. Bees pollinate around one third of our food crops and are an essential part of the ecosystem, so action to help them is essential.

Kate will be showing visitors on the Honda stand how to make these safe refuges and nesting habitats for bees on the Tuesday and Friday of the festival. Visitors are encouraged to visit the stand throughout the day to meet Kate and get involved to watch and learn how to construct them at home.

In addition, Honda Lawn & Garden will be giving away bee bombs to visitors who take part in the workshops.  These are packed with the seeds of nectar producing flowers that have been carefully selected to benefit bees.

Kate added; "I'm delighted to be working with Honda to help spread the word about bees and other pollinators. In my workshops, visitors will learn about the wonderful world of solitary bees and how to use and manage a bee hotel. Plus lots more about our precious pollinators."

“We’re delighted to have Kate with us at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival to provide an interactive and educational element to our stand. If you’re visiting the Show on the Tuesday or Friday please stop by and get involved."
Steve Morris, Head of Power Products for Honda (UK)

For those visiting on the other days, our stand is open throughout the show and you will be able to take a look at Honda’s extensive range of garden machinery including our pedestrian and Miimo robotic lawnmowers. We will also have our friendly Honda Lawn & Garden experts on hand to offer advice and answer any questions visitors may have.

The RHS Tatton Park Flower Show runs from 7 to 21 July 2019 and tickets can be purchased here.
