Honda announced it was teaming up with England Rugby back in 2021. As Performance Partner, we help oversee England Rugby’s world-class training facilities.
Under the multi-year deal, Honda’s logo will be displayed on the England men’s under-18s’ and under-20s’ playing and training kits. And we’ll supply England Rugby and rugby development staff with a state-of-the-art, eco-friendly vehicle fleet.
As well as being involved in elite-level rugby, Honda will help lend its expertise to improve pitches at clubs across England. We’re also rewarding the tens of thousands of volunteers who give their time supporting local rugby clubs and communities.
FANATICAL ABOUT SPORTS
Honda have a superb track record in motor sports, currently powering F1’s Red Bull and AlphaTauri teams and became 2021 Pirelli National Superstock Champions.
The dedication and determination seen in all levels of rugby make England Rugby a perfect match for Honda. The challenging spirit displayed across Honda is alive and well in clubs across England, from the smallest village team to the elite players that represent England on the national stage.
The England Rugby performance Centre at Pennyhill Park, Surrey, has been renamed the Honda England Rugby Performance Centre. The outdoor and indoor pitches, gym, rehab facilities and on-site accommodation will give squads the best possible chance of winning.
Sharing the Power of Dreams
Honda fully supports England Rugby’s key values of:
• Teamwork
• Respect
• Enjoyment
• Discipline
• Sportsmanship

WORDS OF WISDOM
Soichiro Honda, an engineer, set up Honda in the late 1940s, retro-fitting surplus motors to bicycles in a repair shop, as post-war Japan sought to find ways to provide transport for its people.
His tiny company rose to become a giant in the world of motoring and engineering, known for its high standards and innovation, selling 25.3 million vehicles and power products in 2020-21.
“Profound belief in something allows every individual to find an immense inner force, and to overcome his or her failings” Soichiro Honda.
His eye for detail and drive for excellence still inspire the company to deal with today’s challenge of sustainability, through our pioneering work on developing electric and hybrid vehicles, including our HR-V, Jazz and CR-V ranges.
England Rugby is a great example of Soichiro’s beliefs in action. Players go through agony to find the extra 1% that can mean the difference between winning and losing.
"Hope makes you forget all the difficult hours," Soichiro said - a fitting motto for all that time spent on the practice ground.
HELPING THE GRASSROOTS
Honda’s relationship with England Rugby extends to all levels of the game. The company’s core belief in “The Power of Dreams” is equally aligned to scoring a try at Twickenham as it is to the excitement and possibilities of a player picking up a ball for the first time.
Few of the children turning out for training in the cold and rain up and down England will realise their dream of scoring a try at Twickenham as 82,000 fans scream with joy. But they will push and run and be the best they can, keeping fit and making life-long friendships.
As the first-ever title partner for the Rugby Grounds Connected programme, Honda - a world-leader in lawnmowing technology - will be lending its expertise to help improve pitches across England.
England Rugby’s Honda Volunteer Recognition Programme will help to reward more than 100,000 coaches, referees, officials, ground staff, tea makers and others who sacrifice their free time to help support their local rugby communities.
As rugby, like the rest of the world, recovers from Covid-19, Honda will be there, supporting England’s players, staff and volunteers through every ruck, maul and scrum.
As Soichiro Honda once said:
“We only have one future, and it will be made of our dreams, if we have the courage to challenge convention”.
