Our exclusive intelligent suite of advanced safety technology has been developed to keep you, your passengers and everyone on the road safe. All current Honda models come equipped with the Honda SENSING safety suite as standard, underlining Honda’s commitment to road safety.
Honda SENSING features
Using a combination of cameras, radar and sensors, Honda SENSING monitors the road around your Honda to proactively assist you to avoid danger and to enjoy a relaxed, secure drive.
Adaptive Cruise Control
When activated, Honda’s Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow helps maintain a constant speed and remain a safe distance from the car in front by assisting with accelerating and braking.
Lane Keeping Assist System
When activated, Lane Keeping Assist System uses the front camera to detect lane markings and keeps you central in your lane with gentle automatic adjustments to the steering wheel.
Cross Traffic Monitor*
When reversing out of a driveway, car park or garage with obstructed views, Cross Traffic Monitor warns you of any approaching cars, pedestrians and other moving objects, via visual warnings on your infotainment screen and audible alerts. *Available on selected models
Road Departure Mitigation System
When travelling at speeds greater than 70km/h, Honda’s Road Departure Mitigation System detects if you are drifting off the road, and will alert you visually and audibly. Automatic steering is applied to keep you from drifting and braking is applied to stop the car.
Traffic Jam Assist*
Traffic Jam Assist allows your car to monitor the vehicle ahead, autonomously braking if needed to remain a safe distance behind. It also provides steering input to keep your car centred in the lane. Both Lane Keep Assist System and Adaptive Cruise Control must be activated. *Available on selected models.
Blind Spot Information*
When changing lanes, the Blind Spot Information system warns of any cars hidden in your blind spot via audible and visual alerts, making lane change safer. *Available on selected models
Honda SENSING 360*
Honda SENSING 360 is the next level of advanced safety and expands the current technology all the way around the car. Additional corner radar and cameras negate blind spots to lower the risk of collisions and to lessen the demands placed upon the driver. *Available on selected models.
Active Lane Change Assist*
This function assists the driver when changing lanes on a motorway and is activated by the indicator when both Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist System are on. The system scans the adjacent lane to check if it’s clear of incoming vehicles before steering to move your vehicle into the indicated lane. *Available on selected models
Front Cross Traffic Warning*
Front Cross Traffic Warning detects and alerts you to approaching vehicles, pedestrians or any objects from both sides. This allows you to pull out of driveways and junctions safely when your view is obstructed. *Available on selected models
Collision Mitigation Braking System*
This enhanced version of Honda's Collision Mitigation Braking System offers 360-degree detection around your vehicle. It can detect vehicles or pedestrians that may not be visible to you as you turn into a side road or approach a junction. If necessary, it can apply brakes to prevent a collision. *Available on selected models.
Lane Change Collision Mitigation System*
When changing lanes, with the indicator on, this system identifies collision risks with vehicles approaching from behind in the adjacent lane. It provides audible and visual warnings to alert the driver and steers you back in lane to avoid a collision. *Available on selected models
Other Honda Safety Features
Many Honda cars also have other safety features, outside of the Honda SENSING suite. This will depend on your model and grade but may include:
Multi-View Camera System*
Activated by pressing the Multi-View Camera System option on the central touch screen, the system displays a full 360 view of your surroundings on the screen, with a choice of side or overhead views available. This reduces any blind spots when manoeuvring in and out of tight spaces, especially when driving larger vehicles like SUVs. *Available on selected models
LaneWatch*
Using a camera placed under the passenger-side mirror, LaneWatch displays a live view of the driver's blind spot on the central touch screen, this provides an expanded field of vision to make changing lanes or manoeuvring into parking spots easier. *Available on selected models
Active Cornering Lights*
At night when you turn the steering wheel or indicate to take a corner, Active Cornering Lights will illuminate an additional set of lights within your headlight cluster to enhance your visibility in the direction you are turning. The easier you can see, the earlier you can react. *Available on selected models
Honda Parking Pilot*
Safely park your car with the help of this hands-free one-touch parking function. When activated, a combination of sonar, radar and multi-view cameras, detects and identifies suitable parking spaces around you, even when they’re not defined by lines, and manoeuvre the car automatically to park itself. *Available on selected models
Adaptive Driving Beam*
To avoid dazzling oncoming drivers, automatic adjustments of your headlight’s light distribution allow you to see the road ahead and reduce glare to oncoming drivers. *Available on selected models
Reverse Auto-Tilt Mirror*
When you engage reverse, the passenger door mirror automatically tilts down, aiding parking visibility, especially in tight spaces. *Available on selected models
