2G/3G Phase Out
As mobile network operators in many countries look to improve their technologies for the future their 2G/3G networks are being phased out. This phase out of 2G/3G networks means the Emergency Call (eCall) feature will no longer be available.
The vehicles impacted are listed below by model name and model code*

Important:
Customers with vehicles fitted with a 112-eCall device that uses 2G/3G networks should be aware that if these networks in their country or region have been phased out, the eCall service will not operate and there will be no emergency call initiated in the event of an accident – whether via airbag deployment or a manually triggered eCall using the vehicle’s SOS button.
Background:
The decision to phase out the cellular networks and subsequent impacts on vehicle features and functions are beyond Honda’s control. The timing of the phase out varies from country to country and from operator to operator, but will start in the next 5 years if it hasn’t already.
The equipment used to support the 2G/3G networks will be removed and as a result these networks will no longer be available. The reasons for the planned phase outs include:
- Improved Services: use of 4G/5G networks offer faster speeds, better connectivity, higher data volumes, and support for modern technologies.
- Outdated Technology: 2G/3G networks are becoming obsolete as newer networks provide superior capabilities for data and voice communication.
Any impact to other vehicle features are under investigation.
